Climate in Subic Bay - Philippines

When you plan a vacation in any country, one of the things that you need to focus on will be the weather. For this reason, being aware of the facts concerning the climate in Subic Bay will be important.

As with most provinces and cities in the Philippines, the weather in Subic, Zambales is marked by two seasons: the dry and wet ones. Unlike countries like the United States, which has four seasons (winter, spring, summer and fall), the Philippines only has two because it is a tropical country. Given this fact, the weather here is either hot or cold. This, needless to say, is very important because you do not want to head to Subic when it is raining if you plan to go to the beach.

Generally speaking, the climate in Subic Bay is characterized by the dry season from November to May. This is followed by the rainy season which commences from June up to the month of October. However, what sets the place apart from others is that the weather does not have the extreme range found in Metro Manila, i.e., it does not get too hot or too cold.

As stated earlier, the weather can play a pivotal role in how you plan your stay in the area. Obviously you will not want to go the beach when it is rainy season but this extends to diving too. A lot of times the dive sites, such as El Capitan and the San Quentin, are best viewed around January to May.

The climate in Subic Bay, while similar to that of metro Manila, is also subject to some variations, especially in recent years. For example, there have been times wherein the months from December to February have been marked by cold spells. Similarly the summer season is more pronounced from March to May and the months before that quite cold. On the average, however, the temperature reaches 26 degrees Celsius or 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fortunately, it is easier than ever to assess the weather in the area thanks to the Internet and also the various weather bureaus on cable television. By always keeping an eye out for any tropical depression or typhoons, you can assure yourself of a safe trip.

The climate in Subic Bay needs to be understood because it can make or break a vacation. By being aware of the various elements, trouble can be avoided and you can enjoy the beauty and scenery of Subic and Zambales.
